Denied any form of recourse and prevented from being heard, the family finds itself in an extremely precarious situation.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p><p class=\"_aupe copyable-text x15bjb6t x1n2onr6\"><span class=\"x19la9d6 x1fc57z9 x6ikm8r x10wlt62 x19co3pv x11tp94h xfibh0p xiy17q3 x1xsqp64 x1lkfr7t xexx8yu xyri2b x18d9i69 x1c1uobl\"><span class=\"xrtxmta x1bhl96m\">\ud83d\udd36<\/span><\/span><strong><span class=\"_aupe copyable-text xkrh14z\"> Origin of the Conflict<\/span><\/strong><\/p><p class=\"_aupe copyable-text x15bjb6t x1n2onr6\"><span class=\"_aupe copyable-text xkrh14z\">The dispute involves the family and the Pentecostal church in the Munyinya neighborhood, located near their land. Between the family\u2019s property and the church lies a small traditional pathway used by local residents. Over time, the church leaders constructed buildings that encroached on this path and later attempted to relocate the pathway onto the family\u2019s land, sparking tensions.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"_aupe copyable-text x15bjb6t x1n2onr6\"><span class=\"_aupe copyable-text xkrh14z\">The local zone chief, Agn\u00e8s NSHIMIRIMANA, a member of this church, sided with the church leaders. She prohibited local mediators from listening to the family and supported the church\u2019s decisions, further worsening the injustice.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"_aupe copyable-text x15bjb6t x1n2onr6\"><span class=\"x19la9d6 x1fc57z9 x6ikm8r x10wlt62 x19co3pv x11tp94h xfibh0p xiy17q3 x1xsqp64 x1lkfr7t xexx8yu xyri2b x18d9i69 x1c1uobl\"><span class=\"xrtxmta x1bhl96m\">\ud83d\udd36<\/span><\/span><strong><span class=\"_aupe copyable-text xkrh14z\"> Intimidation and Misrepresentation of Documents<\/span><\/strong><\/p><p class=\"_aupe copyable-text x15bjb6t x1n2onr6\"><span class=\"_aupe copyable-text xkrh14z\">On 01\/11\/2025, the zone chief, accompanied by Imbonerakure led by KARENZO Matto (alias Bivunyungu), came to cut down a tree belonging to the family, claiming the area was needed for the pathway relocation.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"_aupe copyable-text x15bjb6t x1n2onr6\"><span class=\"_aupe copyable-text xkrh14z\">Despite the family\u2019s attempts to present their case to local mediators, they were prevented from doing so. The zone chief even confiscated the mediators\u2019 documents that the family had prepared.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"_aupe copyable-text x15bjb6t x1n2onr6\"><span class=\"_aupe copyable-text xkrh14z\">Later, the communal administrator (Musitanteri) of Kirundo, Ir Jean Berchimas NDIKURIYO, issued a misleading document, claiming that the tree had been legally authorized for removal, although it had actually been cut a month earlier on 01\/11\/2025, before the document was drafted on 02\/12\/2025.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"_aupe copyable-text x15bjb6t x1n2onr6\"><span class=\"x19la9d6 x1fc57z9 x6ikm8r x10wlt62 x19co3pv x11tp94h xfibh0p xiy17q3 x1xsqp64 x1lkfr7t xexx8yu xyri2b x18d9i69 x1c1uobl\"><span class=\"xrtxmta x1bhl96m\">\ud83d\udd36<\/span><\/span><strong><span class=\"_aupe copyable-text xkrh14z\"> Blocked Judicial Recourse<\/span><\/strong><\/p><p class=\"_aupe copyable-text x15bjb6t x1n2onr6\"><span class=\"_aupe copyable-text xkrh14z\">The family then approached the Vumbi First Instance Court, but their request was rejected because they did not have the mediators\u2019 report, which the zone chief had blocked. Family members and supporters are now appealing to higher authorities and the justice system to end this injustice and ensure the family\u2019s rights are finally
