Instead of confronting the realities and responding to legitimate concerns, the government chooses isolation and avoidance.<\/p><p>Human rights are non-negotiable. Respect for human dignity, freedom of expression, the safety of human rights defenders, and the fight against impunity are fundamental pillars of the rule of law. The withdrawal in Geneva clearly shows that the Burundian regime refuses to take responsibility for serious violations: enforced disappearances, arbitrary detentions, torture, targeted assassinations, and harassment of dissenting voices.<\/p><p>King Umurundi Freedom strongly condemns this withdrawal. We remind that victims have the right to truth, justice, and reparations. It is unacceptable for governments to attempt to silence those who, often at great personal risk, fight for justice and freedom.<\/p><p>We salute the courage of human rights defenders, both in exile and in the country, and call on the international community to maintain constant pressure on the CNDD-FDD regime to comply with its international commitments.<\/p><p>We reaffirm our unwavering commitment to support all initiatives promoting human rights, transitional justice, and the memory of victims.<\/p><p><strong>Without justice, there can be no lasting peace nor a free future for the
