Originally from Rugero hill, formerly part of Gisozi commune in Mwaro province, he is now registered under Mwaro commune, Gitega province, in line with the country\u2019s new administrative restructuring.<\/p><p data-start=\"698\" data-end=\"1018\"><strong data-start=\"698\" data-end=\"732\">Circumstances of the Abduction<\/strong><br data-start=\"732\" data-end=\"735\" \/>According to multiple witnesses, three men in civilian clothing\u2014believed to be agents of the National Intelligence Service (SNR)\u2014arrived at his residence around 5:00 a.m. They allegedly forced him out of the house, violently subdued him, and took him away in a vehicle parked nearby.<\/p><p data-start=\"1020\" data-end=\"1123\">The vehicle was described as a white double-cab pickup truck with tinted windows and no license plates.<\/p><p data-start=\"1125\" data-end=\"1344\">Since this forceful arrest, no reliable information has been provided regarding his whereabouts or the reasons for his abduction. His family, deeply shaken, fears for his safety and is demanding immediate clarification.<\/p><p data-start=\"1346\" data-end=\"1633\"><strong data-start=\"1346\" data-end=\"1389\">Urgent Call from Human Rights Defenders<\/strong><br data-start=\"1389\" data-end=\"1392\" \/>In the face of this alarming disappearance, King Umurundi Freedom issues a solemn appeal to the Burundian authorities\u2014particularly the security services and the National Independent Human Rights Commission (CNIDH)\u2014to intervene without delay.<\/p><p data-start=\"1635\" data-end=\"1872\">\u201cWe demand full transparency regarding this abduction, that Mr. Thierry Niyomwungere be located as quickly as possible, and that his physical integrity and fundamental rights be fully protected,\u201d said a spokesperson for the organization.<\/p><p data-start=\"1874\" data-end=\"2093\">The organization reminds the authorities that enforced disappearance constitutes a grave violation of fundamental rights, contrary to the Constitution of Burundi and the country\u2019s international human rights commitments.<\/p><p data-start=\"2095\" data-end=\"2376\"><strong data-start=\"2095\" data-end=\"2127\">Context and Growing Concerns<\/strong><br data-start=\"2127\" data-end=\"2130\" \/>This latest incident comes amid an atmosphere of fear and intimidation that is increasingly alarming for human rights defenders in Burundi.
