A citizen has just been abducted during the night of this Saturday, May 10, 2025, in the Gitega neighborhood, Kinama zone, Ntahangwa commune, plunging his family and local residents into deep anxiety.
The victim is NIYONGABO Aimé, 34 years old, married and a father. He resides in the Gitega neighborhood, plot No. 85, in Kinama zone, in the city of Bujumbura. He works as a trader, an activity he carries out on a daily basis.
🔶 A Nighttime and Brutal Abduction
The incident occurred at around 10:00 p.m., on the night of Saturday, May 10, 2025, as NIYONGABO Aimé was returning home from his day’s work. Upon arrival, he noticed the suspicious presence of a white Double Cab pickup truck, with tinted windows and no license plates, parked in front of his house.
According to witnesses, the occupants of the vehicle immediately got out, seized the victim, and forcibly dragged him into the Double Cab before speeding away.

So far, no information is available regarding where NIYONGABO Aimé was taken or the reasons behind his abduction. No authority has officially communicated about his arrest, raising fears of a forced disappearance.
