A lifeless body was discovered early on Saturday, November 29, 2025, in a drainage canal located under the camp known as Socarti, in Mwizero Neighborhood, Kamenge Zone, Ntahangwa Commune, Bujumbura Province.
According to initial witnesses, the victim is believed to be a man aged between 35 and 40 years old. Evidence found at the scene suggests that he may have been strangled elsewhere before his body was dumped into the canal. None of the nearby residents were able to identify him.
Local residents alerted the authorities and are awaiting their arrival.
Given the lack of information about the victim’s identity, the population is requesting that the body not be buried hastily. They are calling for it to be transferred to the morgue for thorough examinations and to allow possible identification by relatives.
