Yesterday, we published an article concerning the disappearance of Vincent Nsengiyumva and Anicet Nsengiyumva, collaborators of the intelligence services acting as informants. The two men were abducted on Friday, May 22, 2026, while they were in the company of Franck, a military intelligence collaborator, at MINA RESTO BAR, located in Nyabugete I neighborhood.

Today, we return to the findings of our investigations regarding the circumstances of their disappearance, as well as several elements that increase concerns about their fate. We are also publishing photographs taken on the day of their disappearance while they were seated at this establishment.
According to the information gathered, while Vincent, Anicet, and Franck were at MINA RESTO BAR around 7:00 p.m., Anicet received a phone call inviting him to come downstairs to meet certain individuals. He then asked Vincent to accompany him in order to identify his interlocutors.
Our investigations indicate that once they reached the ground floor, Vincent and Anicet met a man whose identity has not yet been established. Together, they boarded Anicet’s Toyota Voxy vehicle, license plate FA 9379, and headed toward the shores of Lake Tanganyika, near Nyabugete Beach.
Upon arrival, this man allegedly handed them several items or packages, which they placed in their vehicle.
Thereafter, Vincent, Anicet, and this man got back into the Toyota Voxy in order to return to MINA RESTO BAR. However, as they were leaving the lake area, a white double-cabin pickup truck, without visible license plates at the front or rear, reportedly arrived at high speed. The vehicle appeared to attempt to ram the Toyota Voxy traveling uphill.
The driver of the Voxy reportedly tried to avoid the collision by swerving off the road, where the vehicle came to a stop.
According to witness accounts, three men in civilian clothing along with four police officers who were in the back of the pickup allegedly stepped out of the vehicle. They apprehended Vincent and Anicet before transferring the items found in the Toyota Voxy into the pickup.
At that moment, Vincent and Anicet reportedly attempted to alert passersby by shouting: “We are being abducted, help!”
However, their calls reportedly received no assistance. The two men were forced into the pickup.
Notably, the man who was accompanying them reportedly showed no reaction to the scene. According to the information gathered, he also entered the pickup before it quickly left the scene.
In our previous report, we indicated that Anicet’s vehicle was later found abandoned near Lake Tanganyika, with the keys inside as well as the mobile phones of the two missing individuals.
How was this vehicle removed from the scene?
According to our information, during the night of Friday, May 22, 2026, police officers from the Kanyosha station were informed of the incident in Nyabugete. The head of the Kanyosha police station, Captain Lazard Irankundiye, reportedly went to the scene with several officers. The vehicle was then transferred to the Kanyosha police station, where it remains to this day.
Persons raising questions in this case
The first person raising numerous questions is Franck, a military intelligence collaborator.
According to the information gathered, after the disappearance of Vincent and Anicet, Franck reportedly continued to call Vincent’s phone repeatedly. A person eventually answered one of the calls, likely the head of the Kanyosha police station. Franck allegedly asked to identify who was speaking. In response, the interlocutor also asked Franck to identify himself. Franck immediately replied in Kirundi: “Mwebwe muzokwikwegera, mwitaba ama telephone atari rwanyu.”
In English: “You will get yourselves into trouble by answering a phone that does not belong to you.”
The second person frequently mentioned in the testimonies collected is a certain Régis, already referenced several times in publications by the King Umurundi Freedom Organization. Residing in Kanyosha, he is also presented as a collaborator of the intelligence services.
According to our sources, on the day of Vincent and Anicet’s disappearance, Régis was seen at MINA RESTO BAR in Nyabugete in a Toyota Spacio with tinted windows. He reportedly stayed only briefly.
The following day, May 23, 2026, Régis reportedly went to the Kanyosha police station on a motorcycle to inquire whether Vincent and Anicet were being held in custody. He was told that they were not detained there.
After leaving the police station, he reportedly returned briefly to MINA RESTO BAR before leaving again.
According to information gathered by our organization, Régis allegedly later told some of his close associates that there was no longer any hope of seeing Vincent and Anicet again.
