Former TCS Workers Denounce Labor Abuses Following Contract Termination with BRARUDI

Dozens of former employees of Total Cleaning Service (TCS), a company previously contracted by BRARUDI, are speaking out against serious violations of their labor rights. Following the end of the contract between TCS and BRARUDI, workers say they were left without pay, benefits, or official recognition.

Over 400 workers affected
TCS began operations on September 12, 2016, and employed over 400 workers split into two categories:
• Cleaners, in charge of maintaining cleanliness inside and outside BRARUDI premises.
• ”Menutensionnels”, responsible for monitoring bottles and beverages on the production lines.

🔸 Unfulfilled promises and denied rights
Workers say that Patrick RUPARI, the former TCS director, claimed they were registered with the National Social Security Institute (INSS). However, checks with INSS showed no record of them.

They also claim that several workdays remain unpaid and that they have not received service certificates required for future employment.

🔸Their demands:
1. Compensation for four months of unpaid leave (2019–2022)

2. Payment for six extra workdays
3. Payment of social security contributions since 2016
4. Delivery of service certificates
5. A serious, honest response from their former employer

🔸Fear of impunity
Workers are worried that Mr. RUPARI, who holds both Burundian and Dutch nationality, might leave the country without being held accountable.

🔸Call for action
The affected workers are appealing to relevant authorities and human rights bodies to intervene so that justice is served after years of labor exploitation.
